Whenever I travel out West, I like to stop at some arbitrary, isolated spot, and just listen for the solitude. Even if it’s only for a few deep breaths of mountain air.
There is a chasm between solitude and loneliness, with the former being the comfort we have in our own skin….especially when we find ourselves alone and away from what we are familiar with.
We should always find a way to experience intermittent solitude. It rebuilds our confidence and rekindles the hope that is quietly chipped away through daily life.
Solitude, if for nothing than to remind you that you are alive and breathing and full of everything good that makes you, you.
Good things.
You have perfectly described why I love going to CO — being surrounded by the mountains is so awe inspiring and humbling… I can only describe it as a spiritual experience. 😀
